Physical Description
Physical DescriptionBracelet. Five parallel silver-plated chains, each formed from 23 rosettes linked at corners. Chains are linked to each other in two places along their lengths. Slide clasp is supported at each end by filigree bar. No markings. Part of set (1966.8.4 A-D). Transmitted through embassy.
Historical NoteThis silver chain bracelet was given to Lady Bird Johnson by His Excellency and Mrs. Mohamed Anwar El Sadat, President of the National Assembly of the United Arab Republic. Egypt was known as the United Arab Republic from 1958 to 1971.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to the President, First Lady or member of the First Family during President Johnson's term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 20, 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
