Physical DescriptionBrooch. Carved coral flower mounted on two narrow curved gold bars joined at both ends. A pin with safety catch is attached on the back.
Historical NoteThis coral flower brooch was given to Lady Bird Johnson during her trip to the China Pavilion 1968 World’s Fair. San Antonio, Texas hosted the fair that year, dubbing it the HemisFair ’68. The theme of the fair was “The Confluence of Civilizations in the Americas.”

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
