Physical DescriptionEarrings, part of a matching 4-piece jewelry set (1967.6.4 A-D). Each has granulated openwork in teardrop shape with royal crest in the center and bordered with 10 gold rosettes; suspended from gold ball. Screw back.
Historical NotePart of a matching jewelry set given to the Johnson family by His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, Emperor of Ethiopia during an informal visit to the White House on February 13-14, 1967.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to First Daughter Lynda Johnson Robb during the Johnson Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 20, 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
