Physical DescriptionPhysical DescriptionEarrings. Silver-plated filgree rosette with large dangle, consisting of filigree fan-shape with triangular mesh below. The mesh is formed of 10 small rosettes linked with chain and then edged with 7 small pendant balls. Clip back. No markings. Part of set (1966.8.4 A-D). Transmitted through embassy.
Historical NoteThis silver chain bracelet was given to Lady Bird Johnson by His Excellency and Mrs. Mohamed Anwar El Sadat, President of the National Assembly of the United Arab Republic. Sadat was awarded a U.S. Congressional Gold Medal in 2018 in honor of his heroic achievements and courageous contributions to peace in the Middle East.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to the President, First Lady or member of the First Family during President Johnson's term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 20, 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
