Physical DescriptionWristwatch. White face with gold hands and hour marks. Text on face: "[in script] LBJ", "Benrus", "Swiss Made". Gold-plated case w/ 2 stems. Engraved on reverse: "Benrus", "Bexel 20 Micron Gold Electroplate Stainless Steel Back". Black suede band, stamped with gold "Benrus".
Historical NoteThis LBJ wrist watch was one of President Johnson’s “giveaway” items. When he became President, Johnson ordered a variety of objects to present to visitors and special quests. He kept a selection of appropriate gifts in a special “giveaway” drawer in his desk in the Oval Office.
