Physical DescriptionWristwatch. Black face with gold hands and hour marks. Text on face: "[in script] LBJ", "Incabloc", "Swiss Made". Alarm function. Gold-tone case with 2 stems. Engraved on reverse: "Brevet +", "36", "79715", "Incabloc", "Waterproof", "Stainless Steel Back", "Antimagnetic", "Swiss Made". Black alligator band stamped with gold "Benrus".
Historical NoteThis wrist watch was one of President Johnson’s “giveaway” items. When he became President, Johnson ordered a variety of objects to present to visitors and special quests. He kept a selection of appropriate gifts in a special “giveaway” drawer in his desk in the Oval Office.
