Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ speaks to a man (“O'Brien”) who has won a trophy and sits on his horse ("Legislation"), offering him a new horse ("Post Office"). A small piece of paper “The Hartford Times” adhered to lower right. Caption: “You Have Been So Successful with That Horse--I Would Like to See You Handle This One”. Artist signature lower right: "Ed Valtman ‘65”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: [circle] “Sept 2.”.
Historical NoteOn November 3, 1965, Lyndon Johnson swore in Lawrence F. O'Brien as Postmaster General.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
