Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ is holding a stack of papers ("Budget 1967") as he pats the shoulder of a harried man sitting next to him. The man works on complicated paperwork ("Federal Tax Form"). Caption reads: "That's My Boy!". Artist signature upper left: "Oliphant © 1966 The Denver Post". Additional text at lower right: "The Los Angeles Times Syndicate."
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: "Respectfully - Pat Oliphant" "1/25/66".
Historical NoteIn 1967, the budget increased funding for the Vietnam War and reduced funding for the Great Society. President Johnson also discussed plans to reduce the budget deficit.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
