Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ weeps into a handkerchief and waves goodbye to Luci and her husband leaving the White House with a suitcase. Caption: “And Something Blue”. Artist signature lower right: "Bassett”.
Historical NoteOn August 6, 1966, Luci Johnson married Patrick Nugent at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception with a reception ceremony at the White House. The wedding was televised and highly reported on.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
