Physical DescriptionOriginal color cartoon drawing. LBJ watches Lady Bird as she rides a bucking book/horse ("White House Schedule") through ("Meeting", "Family Duties", "Social Obligations", "State Obligations". He says,"Lady Bird, Ah don't know how you do it!" Caption reads: "A Working Hand". Artist signature lower right: "Parrish © 1964 by The Chicago Tribune."
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: "To the First Lady, with best wishes, Joseph Parrish".
Historical NoteLady Bird was heavily involved as First Lady. During the 1964 election, she campaigned for President Johnson in her Lady Bird Special charter train in the south. She also promoted the Highway Beautification Act and other beautification initiatives around the country.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
