Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. A giant LBJ is on the witness stand. Next to him is a smoking gun (“US Army”) ("Dominican Intervention"). Three juries ("U.N.”, “O.A.S.”, and “N.A.T.O.") consider the evidence. Caption: “The Poor Juries!”. Artist signature lower left: "De Alba.".
Historical NoteIn April 1965, the Dominican Revolutionary Party installed a president in the National Palace. In response, President Johnson sent Marines and the Organization of American States (OAS) sent troops to the Dominican Republic to evacuate American citizens from the country, end the civil war, and establish a conservative Reformist Party government.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
