Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ covers his eyes while pointing to a globe. Next to him, his suitcase is covered in stickers ("Puente del Este” and “Guam". Humphrey also points to the globe with his eyes closed. His suitcase has several stickers ("Brussels”, “Bonn”, “Paris”, and Lond[on]"). Caption: ‘Take Your Pick, They're Restless All Over”. Artist signature lower right: "McCarty”.

Historical NoteIn 1967, Johnson sent Hubert Humphrey to several countries in Europe to fix relations and increase support for the Vietnam War. In April 1967, Lyndon Johnson met with the heads of state in Latin America in Punta del Este, Uruguay, promising financial support to other nations in the Americas. Also in 1967, Johnson met with South Vietnamese leaders in Guam.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
