Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ, two other men (identifiable as U Thant and Pope Paul VI), and a man with the world as his head raise lighted candles to the United Nations building (“And they shall beat their sword into plowshares). A sign (“20 years young”) is in front of them with the U.N. logo. Caption: “Seek and Ye Shall Find–”. Artist signature lower left: "Hy Rosen”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower left: "To President Johnson - my best wishes and hopes in your search for all of us - Hy Rosen". Handwritten at lower center: “3 cols” [illegible]. Handwritten at lower right: “9 proof” “June 25/65”.
Historical NoteThe United Nations were formed on October 24, 1945. By 1965, the UN celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
