Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ sits at his desk, surrounded by signs ("L.B.J. [Ci]ty Limits", "L.B.J. Tenn. City Limits", "L.B.J. Indiana City Limits", "L.B.J. Okla. City Limits", "L.B.J. Wyoming City Limits", and “L.B.J.”). Each town is named "LBJ." Signs fully visible are in Oklahoma, Indiana, Tennessee and Wyoming. Caption: “Let's Build Some New Towns!”. Artist signature lower right: "Sandeson”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten across the bottom: "For-President Johnson with the good will of Bill Sandeson".
Historical NoteThe Housing and Development Act was signed on August 10, 1965 to expand federal housing, build more low income housing, and funded public works projects. On September 9, 1965, Johnson created the Department of Housing and Urban Development to oversee these projects.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
