Historical NotePresident Johnson was a very doting grandfather when his first grandchild, Patrick Lyndon Nugent, was born. China detonated its first hydrogen bomb on June 17, 1967, under the code name Test No. 6. Cosa Nostra is another name for the Sicilian Mafia. After the Six Day War, British Prime Minister George Brown urged Israel not to annex East Jerusalem. Thomas J. Dodd was a senator accused of financial corruption and he was censured by Congress. On June 20, 1967, Muhammed Ali was sentenced to five years for refusing the Vietnam Draft and banned from boxing.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
