Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. A woman looks out of a door with a presidential seal on it. A man in the hallway bears flowers with a ribbon ("Speedy Recovery") and says, "Just Passing by, and…". A cat holds a box (“Fresh Catnip”). Caption: “Speaking for All”. Artist signature lower right: "Vic Runtz news ‘66”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower left: [blue] “3 col line Ed Page Wed”. Handwritten at lower center: [blue] “Bangor Daily News – Nov. 16, 1966”.
Historical NoteLyndon Johnson had a history of health problems, including heart attacks in July 1955 and April 1972, an appendix surgery in 1937, a kidney stone surgery January 1965, gallbladder surgery October 1965, and a benign polyp removal and repair of a scar from the gallbladder surgery in 1966.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
