Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ looks in a mirror and says, "I kinda hate to take the make-up off…". A paper (“LBJ Gets Big Ovation”) is in his pocket and a case (“Little Traveler’s Make-Up Kit”) sits on the table. A man brings in two outfits (“Cowboy Suit” and “Korean Kimono”). On the floor are many papers (“Korea - Applause Greets L.B.J.”, “LBJ Gets Terrific Hand in Sydney”, “Press Reports of L.B.J. Trip”, and “Pago Pago Swarms to See L.B.J.”). Caption: “Back to the Salt Mine”. Artist signature lower right: "Alexander”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten across the bottom: "To President Lyndon B. Johnson with deep respect. Sincerely, F. O. Alexander, Evening + Sunday Philadelphia Bulletin".
