Historical NoteThe Johnson Administration submitted 87 bills to Congress, and Johnson signed 84, or 96%, arguably the most successful legislative agenda in US congressional history. This amount of legislation required a lot of time and energy. In this cartoon, the pressure Johnson faces as president is not known to everyone "on the street".
