Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ and a man ("Congress") both work on a railroad hand cart on the track near a tunnel ("Rail Strike"). LBJ yells at Congress, using a mini-megaphone. Caption: “To the Rescue Again”. Artist signature lower right: "Roberts”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: “7/17/67”. Handwritten at lower center: [red] [illegible].
Historical NoteIn April 1964, President Johnson ended a 5-year dispute over railroad industry, giving a raise to about half of the workers in the union as well as other benefits and averting a strike.
