Historical NoteJohn F. Kennedy appealed to a younger base of Democratic voters. In a 1956 speech at Winston-Salem to the Young Democrats of North Carolina, Kennedy criticized the Eisenhower administration for having few young people in its offices and promised progressive policies from his own political party. He would later speak at many other events for Young Democrats and young professionals.Additional Details
