Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. LBJ sits on a fence, plays his guitar, and sings "Home on the Range..". Inside the fence, a man pouts. Another man across the water looks at a paper (“Vacation Plans”) and sees a sign ("See the U.S.A. with L.B.J."). Caption: “Y'all Come”. Artist signature lower right: "John Stampone Federal Times”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: [blue] "To: President Johnson, Why not invite some 'lucky' tourists to see the L.B.J. Ranch? Best wishes".
Historical NotePresident Johnson announced plans for a travel tax which would tax Americans traveling outside the Western hemisphere. However, this was shelved in March 1968 by the House Ways and Means Committee.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
