Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Two men (LBJ, "Congress") try to get their rowboat off a giant submerged rock ("Rail Strike"). Caption: “The Price of Drifting”. Artist signature lower right: "Warren King”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten across the bottom: “To President Lyndon B. Johnson - respectfully, Warren king The News 7/18/67”.
Historical NoteIn April 1964, President Johnson ended a 5-year dispute over railroad industry, giving a raise to about half of the workers in the union as well as other benefits and averting a strike.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
