Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Mailman LBJ carries a full bag ("Federal Regulations") as he walks past a dog ("Business") that growls at him while wagging its tail. Caption reads: "Growls a Lot but Never Stops Wagging His Tail". Artist signature lower right: "LePelley".
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: "6-7-66".
Historical NotePresident Johnson’s administration presented business leaders with federal regulations as a part of his Great Society measures. While business leaders complained, the economy was still strong enough not to inspire much protest.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
