Off stage, a man ("Morse Solution") has an egg on his head and another man ("Labor Dept.") has celery on his. Caption: “'Winging' It!”. Artist signature lower right: "Sandeson”.

Historical NoteIn July 1966, airline workers from the International Association of Machinists went on strike due to a lack of pay raises. Five different airlines were impacted and the strike shut down sixty percent of the commercial airline industry. President Johnson intervened and offered a settlement of a 4.5% raise that was rejected. Eventually, the strike ended with a 6% raise every three years.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
