Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. A man ("History") looks at a book ("The Vantage Point 1963-1969 Lyndon Baines Johnson") and says, "You've done a fine work here, President Johnson. An insight into the presidency-and a fresh slant at these fateful years.". A confused donkey looks on. Other books (“1952”, “1956 1960”, “1960 1963”, and “1969 1973”) are in the background. Artist signature lower right: "J. Knox Nashville Banner-”.
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at lower right: "For President Johnson with my admiration and respect - Sincerely Jack K ‘71". Handwritten at lower center: [circle] [blue] “4 ½ cols”. Handwritten at lower right: “595”.
Historical NoteAfter leaving office in January 1969, Lyndon Johnson went to his ranch in Texas. He attended the opening of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1971 and his memoirs The Vantage Point: Perspectives of the Presidency 1963–1969 was published that same year.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library in 1973.
