Physical DescriptionOriginal cartoon drawing. Football player Hubert Humphrey runs with a football ("LBJ") along a playing field ("Asia") with three goal posts spaced along the sides. Caption reads: "Man! What a Gridiron!". Artist signature lower left: "Scott Long Minneapolis Tribune".
Inscriptions and MarkingsHandwritten at upper right: "With sincere good wishes to the President - Scott Long". Handwritten at lower left: "2/28/".
Historical NoteIn 1966, Hubert Humphrey toured Asia and when he returned, he spoke in support of the Johnson Administration’s Vietnam policy.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
