Historical NoteA love-in was a type of gathering or protest where attendees meditated and listened to music, which may have an emphasis on love or recreational drugs. They were associated with hippies and the antiwar movement. Robert McNamara was the Secretary of Defense. Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1973.
