Physical DescriptionGold-tone tie bar with gold "V" and wavy horizontal lines over a blue background. The right arm of the "V" is stretched above the disk and ends in an arrow. Alligator clip on back.
Historical NoteThis VISTA tie bar was given to President Johnson in September 1967 by Sargent Shriver. VISTA is an anti-poverty program created by Lyndon Johnson's Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, and is now known as AmeriCorps.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
