Historical NoteThese coral flower earrings were given to Lady Bird Johnson during her trip to the China Pavilion 1968 World’s Fair. San Antonio, Texas hosted the fair that year, dubbing it the HemisFair ’68. The theme of the fair was “The Confluence of Civilizations in the Americas.”

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
