Nearby another man ("Czechs") is tied to a stake with a tank ("Russia") with a hammer and sickle symbol pointing its gun at his head. Historical NoteIn early 1968, Alexander Dubcek, the new leader of Czechoslovakia, created liberal reforms that allowed for more freedom of speech and the press. The other Warsaw Pact nations invaded Prague to strengthen the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and stop the liberal reforms.
