Physical DescriptionPhysical DescriptionGold cased Girard Perregaux Chronometer HF wristwatch. Mat-silvered dial with applied battons. The dial bears the text: "Girard Perregaux", "Chronometer HF", "Gyromatic", "Swiss T.". Day calender, set to 27, at the 3.0 clock position. The brown reptile band w/ gold-tone buckle is stamped with a gold "Girard Perregaux". Engraving on the back reads, "Swiss Air Cadets to President Lyndon B. Johnson".
Historical NoteThis watch was sent to President Johnson in the White House by the Swiss Air Cadets (Aeroclub Der Schweiz) of Zurich, Switzerland on August 9, 1967.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
