Clinton Anderson was elected as the treasurer for New Mexico in 1933 and the U.S. Representative for New Mexico in 1941. Under the Truman administration, Clinton served as the Secretary of Agriculture from 1945 to 1948. In the years following, Clinton served as a U.S. Senator for New Mexico from 1949 to 1973.
