Haile Selassie I
Ethiopia, 1892 - 1975
He was emperor of Ethiopia from 1930-1974. He was one of the founding fathers of the League of Nations and the United Nations. While remaining open toward the United States and praising its progress on Civil Rights, he was critical of the Vietnam war.
