New York Daily Newsfounded 1920

It is considered the publication of the working class and was the first U.S. daily newspaper printed as a tabloid. Subway riders liked the ease of reading the format. The height of its daily circulation was 2.4 million by 1947 and by 2019, it was the 11th largest daily in circulation in the United States. Its emphasis has always been on the use of photographs. There was an earlier New York Daily News which ceased publication in 1906.
