Physical DescriptionInvitation to a banquet in Thailand on October 28, 1965. The invitation is encased in an ornate gold case with a large green/gold/red bird figure at the center.
Inscriptions and MarkingsPrinted: Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand have the pleasure to extend an invitation to Their Excellencies the President of the United States and Madame Johnson to the Banquet to be held in Their honour at Chakri Throne Hall of Friday 28th October B. Historical NoteThis invitation to a banquet at Chakri Throne Hall was given to Lyndon Baines and Lady Bird Johnson when they visited Thailand for the 7-Nation Conference October 28-30, 1966 and met with King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit.

Custodial History NoteThis item was a gift from a foreign official to President Lyndon B. Johnson during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
