Physical DescriptionPhilatelic, postcard. On a purple background, modern cyclists are racing with a person wearing a traditional circular tribal headdress and holding a circular fan. On the verso, "Mexico 1968" with Olympics rings and "Tuft of Feathers of the Quetzal Dancers / Pueblo" in several languages.
Historical NotePart of group of Olympics souvenirs received for LBJ November 12, 1968. This postcard is one of a set of 20 souvenir postcards from the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, Mexico. Each card shows a figure from Mexican history or culture interacting with a competitor in an Olympic sport; in this case, cycling. Presented via State Department.

Custodial History NoteThis item was a gift from a foreign official to President Lyndon B. Johnson during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
