Physical DescriptionPhotographic portrait of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand. Color photo with white mat. Enclosed in gold nielloware frame (B) with floral and leaf design. Top is shaped with the addition of two gods in pattern. Gold relief crown and white enamel emblem at top center. Green plush back with two rings. Artist signature at lower center: [illegible].

Historical NoteThis portrait was given to Lyndon Baines Johnson when he visited Thailand for the 7-Nation Conference October 28-30, 1966 and met with King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit.

Custodial History Note This item was a gift from a foreign official to President Lyndon B. Johnson during his term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
