Physical Description
Physical DescriptionBracelet. Silver filigree with dangles. Twelve vertical bars, each consisting of six textured diamond shapes with loops on each side of bar. The vertical bars are connected from bar to bar by seven figure-eight loops with textured ring encompassing the middle of each loop. Twenty-four openwork floral medallions are suspended from one edge of the bracelet. An addition twelve medallions are suspended along the center of the bracelet. Clasp inserts into a wide filigree decorated box at the left end and is secured by a sliding lock with three ball-shaped dangles at the top. No markings. Accompanying materials indicated maker as Kashmir Silver Works, Victoria Road, Saddar, Karachi, Pakistan. Possibly a vice presidential gift to CTJ.
Historical NoteThis silver link bracelet was a gift to Lady Bird Johnson from Pakistan. Circumstances of the gift are unknown.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to Second Lady Lady Bird Johnson during Vice President Johnson's term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the Vice-President and maintained there until transfer to the National Archives on January 20, 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
