The two-pronged catch inserts in a box clasp that resembles an eleventh link when closed. Figure-eight loops on the side by the catch pivot to secure the closure on posts opposite the opening.

Historical NoteThis bracelet was given to Lady Bird Johnson by His Excellency Jens Otto Krag, the Prime Minister of Denmark during a private visit the White House on June 9, 1964. Krag had a strong command of the English language thanks to a posting to the Danish embassy in the United States early in his career.
