Physical DescriptionBrooch from a 5-piece matching jewelry set. Spray of 7 brilliant-cut amethysts on white gold stems which emanate from a ring of white gold leaves. A swirled white gold ribbon integrates all parts of design. Hinged pin with hook catch.
Historical NoteThis brooch is part of a 5-piece matching set given to Lady Bird Johnson by His Excellency Chung Hee Park, President of the Republic of Korea on May 17th, 1965, during a state visit to Washington, D.C.

Custodial History NoteThis item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Lady Bird Johnson during the Johnson Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
