Physical DescriptionBrooch comprised of a filigree and faceted gold pieces arranged as a 6-petal gold rosette set inside a ten-pointed starburst. Pin with safety catch and loop for use as a pendant. Part of a matching jewelry set (1968.8.2 A-E).
Historical NoteGiven to Lady Bird Johnson by His Excellency Mohamed Ibrahim Egal, Prime Minister of the Somali Republic during an official visit to the White House on March 14, 1968.

Custodial History NoteThis item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Lady Bird Johnson during the Johnson Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
