Physical DescriptionSilver disk brooch. A silver disk, slightly convex, with two incised black figures. Figures appear to be dancing and carrying sticks or wind instruments. Attached on the back is a hinged pin with safety catch.
Historical NoteIn September 1966, Lady Bird Johnson embarked on a four-day beauty and conservation tour through California, Arizona, and New Mexico documented in a movie called "Faces of the West." This silver disk brooch was given to Lady Bird during the tour by the student body of the Saint Michaels, Arizona high school.
Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
