Physical DescriptionGold steer brooch. A textured gold-tone steer with four clear rhinestone patches. An attached hinged pin with safety catch is one the back.

Historical NoteThis gold steer brooch was made and given to President Johnson by a constituent. The LBJ Ranch in Stonewall, Texas still maintains a herd of cattle descended from those that President Johnson established there.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
