Physical DescriptionPhysical DescriptionGold charm. A relief gold "horn of plenty" with 10 pink sapphires emerging. The "horn of plenty" is mounted on a gold disk with circular ribbed pattern and small flat spots punctuating the ribbing. Loop and ring at top.
Inscriptions and MarkingsInscribed on back: "Lady Bird from 81st Club". Stamped with: "D" in a wreath and "14K".
Historical NoteThis “Horn of Plenty” charm was present to Lady Bird Johnson by the “81st Club” during her attendance at a luncheon at the home of Mrs. Viola Lovre. Lovre’s husband, Harold, served in the 81st Congress from 1949 to 1951 with then Texas Senator Lyndon B. Johnson. The luncheon was likely the wives of the members of the 81st Congress.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
