Physical DescriptionEarrings from a 3-piece matching jewerly set (1965.8.4 (A-C)). Each earring has a single round brilliant-cut amethyst set in white gold openwork with incised detailing to one side of the stone. Screw back.

Historical NoteThis ring is part of a jewelry set that was given to Lady Bird Johnson by His Excellency Chung Hee Park, President of the Republic of Korea on May 17th, 1965, during a state visit to Washington, D.C. Amethyst is the South Korean national gemstone.

Custodial History NoteThis item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Lady Bird Johnson during the Johnson Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
