Physical DescriptionEarrings. Teardrop-shaped pearl in 18K gold "birdnest." About 12 gold "sticks" make a triangular setting. 3 tiny diamonds scattered on setting. Pierced ear backing. Stamped "18K" and "Gary Bradley." Both earrings have same ID number. Presented during White House visit June 2, 1967.
Historical NoteThese gold and pearl “bird’s nest” earrings were given to President and Lady Bird Johnson by The Right Honorable Harold Edward Holt, Prime Minister of Australia during an official visit to the White House on June 2, 1967.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to the President, First Lady or member of the First Family during President Johnson's term in office. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 20, 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
