Physical DescriptionUnmounted, faceted oval piece of orange citrine gemstone.
Historical NoteThis gemstone was given to Lady Bird Johnson by His Excellency Oscar Gestido, President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay during the Latin American Summit Conference in Punta del Este, Uruguay. Uruguay is one of the top producing sources of high quality citrine.

Custodial History NoteThis item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Lady Bird Johnson during the Johnson Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives on January 1969 for deposit with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
