Physical DescriptionFirst Day Cancellation of a Space Treaty Stamp Souvenir Sheet. Text of the Space Treaty is printed overall on top of muted drawings of space flight vehicles. A 6c Apollo 8 stamp adhered at the top center is postmarked: Houston, TX - May 5, 1969. Caption reads: "Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, Including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies". Below the caption is the seal of the United Nations.
Historical NoteSpace treaty stamp souvenir sheet. 6-cent "Apollo 8" stamp is postmarked on May 5, 1969.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
