Physical DescriptionFirst Day Cancellation of a Space Treaty Stamp Souvenir Sheet. Text of the Space Treaty is printed overall on top of muted drawings of space flight vehicles. A 10c First Man on Moon stamp and 6c Apollo 8 stamp are adhered at the top right and postmarked twice: Moon Landing - July 20, 1959, and Washington D.C. - Sept 9, 1969. Caption reads: "Agreement on the Rescue of Astronauts, the Return of Astronauts and the Return of Objects Launched into Outer Space".
Historical NoteSpace treaty stamp souvenir sheet. 10-cent "First Man on Moon" stamp and 6-cent "Apollo 8" are postmarked on July 20, 1969 and September 9, 1969.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
