Physical DescriptionFirst Day Cancellation of a Space Treaty Stamp Souvenir Sheet. Text of the Space Treaty is printed overall on top of muted drawing of space flight vehicles. Two 5c "Twin" Space stamps adhered at the top are postmarked: Kennedy Space Center - Sept 29, 1967. Caption reads: "Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, Including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies". Below the caption is the seal of the United Nations.
Historical NoteSpace treaty stamp souvenir sheet. Two 5-cent stamps were postmarked at the Kennedy Space Center on September 29, 1967.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from the general public to President Johnson during his term in office. It was received by President Johnson personally, until the President donated it to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in 1970.
